A Guided Reflection Looking at Highs and Lows of 2023 Season to Move Thoughtfully into 2024

10/25/2023 9:01 AM
Several studies that were published in 2022 reminds us that reflection allows us to take a moment to recharge and take inventory of our situation, helps track our progress toward goals, gives us time to celebrate success and learn from losses and most of all remind us why we started this journey in the first place. Join Jolly as she guides you on a reflective journey of 2023 so you can continue into 2024 with energy and inspiration. This workshop will focus on having fun, a reflective journey of your summer camp, and inspire you to consider why and how the summer unfolded the way it did in an honest and uplifting way. Participants will use 2023 experiences to evaluate and measure values action and understand what to take from 2023 with us into our preparation for 2024. It is Jolly’s goal in this workshop that participants engage and reflect on the past summer in a mindful way so that they have a clearer path forward to be able to put personal and camp values into action.

Location: Tabernacle

How to Stay Mindful When Everything is Moving - Including Me

10/25/2023 2:00 PM
This 60-minute experiential session is equal parts fun, relaxing, enlightening, and inspiring. Mindfulness is the tool in your toolbox that might not be used enough as a leader/director. Particularly as Mindfulness can and often is stereotyped as just silent stillness. Instead of approaching Mindfulness as a reaction to crisis or the thing to put us to sleep, we will explore Mindfulness as a game, a story, and a social activity.

Location: Tabernacle

Kelly Billings is a Michigan native that has lived around the country from LA to NY to now Minnesota working multiple jobs with kids. Kelly has a BA from Michigan State in Communication Disorders. She has worked in Outdoor Education and summer camp on the beach in California and nannied for a few years for high profile families that were bicoastal which provided great insight and experience into relationship dynamics and youth development.
